Event Description

Martyr's Day in Nepal is the day Sukra Raj Shatri, Dharma Bhakta Mathema, Ganga Lal Shrestha and Dhasrath Chand are honoured for sacrificing their lives for the Nepali people and Nepal.

 

The Rana  rulers hanged Sukra Raj Shatri and Dharma Bhakta Mathema, and shot dead Ganga Lal Shrestha and Dhasrath Chand after they requested better human rights for Nepalese people.

 

The weeklong celebration programmes include paying tribute to martyr Shukraraj Shastri at Teku-Pachali at 8:30am on January 24, martyr Dharma Bhakta at Siphal at 8:30am on January 27, martyrs Ganga Lal and Dasharath Chand at Bishnumati-Shobha Bhagawati at 8:30am on January 29 and all the martyrs at Shaheed Memorial Park, Lainchaur at 9:00am on January 30.
