In a month I am relocating to KTM for a whole year. I have no idea how you find a room to rent. I want to be able to cook so i don't want to be stuck in a hotel the whole time. I know this isn't really travel related but I was thinking there might be some people with some good tips who read this forum. If anyone has any ideas on finding a room, or how much a room should cost a month or even just a nice area, I would be grateful of the advice!

thanks thats helps a lot,

we're going to arrive in feb. and going to stay in total 5 month in ktm.

let us know a month before your arrival. Actually alot of things can happen in Ktm through word of mouth. Incase anything about an empty appartment comes up, will surely let you know. And i think USD 200 per month should be able to get you a decent place to live. Please fell free to ask questions about any of your doubts. Will always be glad to help.

well amanda,

I have a very good place for u.. My family would like to be ur host family if u want to live a typical life here in nepal. But if u want to live in a single room that i have in a school of my aunt. U can volunteer there and get a room there and take breakfast, dinner and lunch with the students.

SO if u think its fine with u... contact me through the private message:D

take care

loads of love

divya

r u still here amanda? let me know

Namaste Marty, I could recommend to you a lovely homestay just north of Thamel in Ganabhu.

The owner is a Professor of Agriculture and his lovely wife have looked after me so well there...see my profile pic for the courtyard bamboo garden. It's 12,000NPR per week for huge double room with sofa and modern tiled bathroom/hot water attached, including WiFi and utilities and a simple breakfast. They have a lovely roof garden also. If your interested or any other visitors to KTM on a longer stay you can send me a message and i can show you photos of the place....The owner can also do airport pick-up's.

I can't recommend this place enough....it's a little oasis in the middle of KTM.

hey keiron,

thanks for your offer but 12.000NPR per week is a bit too much for our budget. but it sounds awesome
