I know Nepali New Year is coming up soon. I am wondering if anyone knows a good place to go on Nepali New Year Eve? Do they have big parties in Kathmandu or is it just another day?

I know there was a post on the forum about this before but i was wondering if any one knows anything about shipping used books for schools and children's charities to Nepal. I have a LARGE number of books which need shipping but the cost by Australia Post is prohibitive (about $50 a kilo). If anyone has any hints on cheaper options i'd really appreciate it. I have been to hospital 3 times while in Nepal. I was wondering if anyone know a good doctor who speaks english? Alternatively any thoughts on good hospitals? When I was in Pokhara I went to one of the hospitals and they charged me over $100 just to stay the night and they bought in a surgical consult.
