Recently, I was visiting Nepal and became quite sick with the dreaded vomiting and diarrhoea. I was advised to visit get some tablets from the pharmacy and was very surprised to be given some antibiotics and other tablets without visiting the doctor. Unfortunately I had left it too late and had to go to one of the local hospitals for re-hydration and more antibiotics.

I have been scared of heights since I was small. On a school trip we visited a science theme park. One of the rides was a huge slide where you hung in the air from a bar and drop a meter to a steep slide. It probably wasn’t very high but when I was swinging from that bar in midair the drop seemed huge. I froze. I couldn’t let go and drop to the ground. It was terrifying and ever since I have stayed away from heights.

My advance reservation at the Fishtail Lodge in Pokhara was cancelled the day before my scheduled stay.
