As Nepal yet again reel under shortage of fuel and cooking gas despite repeated assurances of the government to ease supply of essential commodities, an unknown artist recently drew this candid graffiti (picture posted below) on the tarmac of a busy Thamel street in Kathmandu to portray his desperation and anguish, and obviously that of many people living in the city .

Last month, thousands of college students took to the streets across the country while organising various protest programs against the government's decision to hike the prices of petroleum products. They argued that hike in fuel prices will increase inflation amid large scale unemployment and low salary scale of employees and will badly hit the general public.

But even after increasing the fuel prices, the serpentine queue of vehicles waiting to buy fuel in front of gas stations is still a normal sight in Kathmandu Valley and locals enraged by gas shortage have even started to seize gas cylinders by taking supply trucks under control.
