Bikaner- Junagarh fort

The city which is the organizational headquarters of Bikaner district and Bikaner division is the city of Bikaner. It is situated 330 kilometers, in the northwest of Jaipur.

Starting from 1589 and ending in 1594, the walls and moat of the fort were constructed between this period. Junagarh fort is located in the Thar desert adn to its northwest it has the Aravalli ranges. With its palaces, temples and exhibition areas, Junagarh fort is constructed over 5.28 hectares of land. Documents from the past show that in spite of repeated attacks by rivals on Junagarh fort, the fort was not taken, except for 1 day occupation by an enemy. Made of red sandstone and marble, the palaces and temples in Junagarh fort, are very pretty.
